We are certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) to perform comprehensive energy assessments. The assessment includes all the home's thermal and mechanical systems including attics, exterior walls, air infiltration, windows, basement, heating, cooling and hot water systems as well as a gas appliances safety check and carbon monoxide testing. An evaluation of appliances, lighting, and the potential to use solar or other renewable energy technologies is also provided. Based on this assessment, we offer solutions to fix comfort problems and address high energy bills.

At HMG, our goal is to help the homeowner implement energy saving recommendations and strategies to decrease their homes’ energy demand. Our audits result in a comprehensive list of recommended improvements and a cost estimate to complete the recommended work. We perform the improvements selected by the homeowner and upon project completion, we assess the home's performance again to document that the improvements were properly installed to achieve the promised energy savings. We are subject to quality assurance reviews by third-party organizations to ensure that projects meet program standards.
